For proper fit of the men's adidas 3-Stripe Shooting Top, please reference the size guide provided online that is through the vendor. It is best to use your chest measurements for correct fit in tops. Get that part right, and the rest of the dimensions should fall into place for you...especially since it sounds as if you have a regular build.

Is this loose fitting/athletic cut or like a regular t-shirt?
Is it made loose fit or regular fit....will your true size be able to still fit and have room to wear over another t-shirt or basketball jersey?

The shooting tops tend to be loose fitted, just as the men's Adidas 3-Stripe Shooting Top is. I would recommend checking the size chart for the chest measurements to decide what size will give you the extra room you need to wear another shirt underneath. Honestly, tho, a jersey might be difficult to wear under this shirt unless really oversized.
