It appears as if the inseam for the men's adidas TECHFIT Powerweb Short is gradient; meaning it starts off at 10.5" in a size Small, then goes to 10.75" for a Medium, 11" in a size Large, 11.25" in a size XL, and finally ending with an 11.5" inseam length in a XXL size. The garment has a compressed type of fit and the difference in length is hard to notice.

The small size of the men's adidas TECHFIT Powerweb short and shirt would be the most similar to a big kids XL size. I would check out the size guide online for the men's version and see if the men's small sized dimensions might work for you. I would think they should fit tight enough, but I guess it depends on your body type.

answer 1
The men's adidas TECHFIT Powerweb Short in a size Medium has an approximate thigh opening of 13", and a waist opening of 25". Please keep in mind that this is a compression short and these measurements are with the garment 'at rest' so to speak. It is designed to stretch and have a very snug fit. The difference in the waist in a size Small is 2", so it is about 23".

I have not heard of any issues with the material of the men's adidas TECHFIT Powerweb Short and would think that water will not have an adverse effect on the shorts themselves, even when exposed for longer periods of time as with swimming. As far as the Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) power bands on the shorts, while submerged you will not get the full effect of the banding as far as energy transfer and the ClimaCool® construction will not work underwater either. In general, these shorts are not designed to be used while swimming, altho whether you use them in water or not is your choice. But you will not gain the full benefits of the shorts while submerged in water.

It all depends on what kind of results you are looking for. For faster progress, using a tank with the power bands along with the men's adidas TECHFIT Powerweb Short would be the way to go. Same goes for the calves. Any power banding used in specific areas should help enhance whatever type of workout you are doing.

Question

What size will fit me?

I am about 5'10", 185lbs. I ordered a small and I could barely get one leg into it. I wear a medium in the nike and under amour compression shorts but I am not sure if I could fit into a medium based on the size of the small. I dont mind it being super tight but i dont want anything to rip. I also dont want it to be loose. Should I get a medium or large?

Question

What size should I get?

I am about 5'10", 185lbs. I ordered these in small based on some of the reviews. I got them yesterday and I can barely get it over one of my legs. I normally wear medium in nike and UA compression shorts but I am not really sure how much bigger the mediums are compared to the smalls in these compression shorts. Bottom line is I don't want to exchange it for a medium and it be too small or order a large and have it be too big. So what size Medium or Large?

The men's adidas TECHFIT Powerweb Short in the colorway Red/Light Onyx are a regular shade of Red. It is not your monitor. The lighting must have been bad when they took this picture. I will alert the proper personnel to see if they can re-shoot these shorts in this colorway for a better image for the website. In the meantime, I have provided a picture for you in hopes this will help with your decision.

Question

Why is the webbing design different on product #14129 and #14127?

It looks as though product #14129 and #14127 are supposed to be the same product in different colors. However, one is completely different webbing. So I'm wondering if #14129 comes in a white with the same webbing and which webbing is more appropriate for a runner?

For both colorways in the men's Adidas Techfit Powerweb shorts, the Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) power bands, which work to store and convert the energy of an athlete’s movement, are in the same general places of the body and would perform the same. Even though it looks as if the Black pair might have more webbing, the characteristics of each short is the same. To get the same effect with the bands in different areas of the body, look for shorts where the bands are placed a little differently. It all depends on what muscles you want targeted.
