Yes, the men's Eastbay EVAPOR 8.25" Compression Short has the same compression technology that a lot of the 'biker' shorts use. It is essentially a short that can be used for many activities, bike riding being one of them. The material is durable enough to withstand the constant friction bike riding produces on the body.

A Small in the men's Eastbay EVAPOR 8.25" Compression Short would be most like the fit of a Youth XL garment in a similar design. Because of the compression fit, the men's sizing will conform better to the smaller body frames as well. Unfortunately, sometimes the only way to know how a garment fits is to try it on.

Not really. The men's Eastbay EVAPOR 8.25" Compression Short should be worn just like a regular pair of shorts to get the best benefit for your legs from the compressed fit. I would probably recommend just getting a compressed top as well if you want some abdominal support.

Without knowing the exact colorway you have interest in, it is difficult to be specific with my answer. But there is an estimated delivery for the end of July, 2012, for some styles that are missing a size Large, and another delivery planned for the end of August, 2012. Between these two shipments, most colorways will eventually be restocked. If you resubmit your question with a specific colorway, I can then tell you which month they will be in.

I see a Yellow Sunshine hue when I look at the men's Eastbay Compression Short with EVAPOR in the Gold colorway. A true gold color seems to have a 'deeper' color to it than the style of these pants. But that is only my perception.

Yes, the fit should be very similar, besides the Eastbay brand having the longer inseam of 8.25". But if you wear a size small in the men's Nike Pro Combat Core Compression Short, then a size small should be a decent fit in the men's Eastbay 8.25" Compression Short with EVAPOR.

If you want, you can wear the men's Eastbay 8.25" Compression Short with EVAPOR as is without an undergarment. It comes down to individual comfort & if the shorts feel better without wearing some type of briefs, then so be it. Or vise versa for that matter. If you want to cover up a little, then throw on a pair of shorts over these. The final choice is yours and it is a matter of personal preference.

Unfortunately, we do not seem to carry the colorway you seek in a sports short. The colorways available to us are determined by the manufacturers and we have no control of this.
