There will probably be another garment similar to the men's Eastbay EVAPOR Cold Weather Tights that will be introduced at a later date which should have a wider size selection available. Normally you will start to see these newer styles around the end of May through June.

Yes, of course women or girls can wear the men's Eastbay EVAPOR Cold Weather Tights if you so choose. The downfall is that the size guide offered on the website is direct from the manufacturer and intended to help men, not women. But you should be able to adjust to a smaller size to get the men's version of these tights to fit better on a lady.

Performance wise, the men's Eastbay EVAPOR Cold Weather Tights will work best against the skin...or in your words, a base inner layer. Whether you wear something over the tights for a different look is entirely up to you and is based entirely on individual preference.

In tights, such as the men's Eastbay Cold Weather Tights with EVAPOR, it appears sizing for the Nike brand will fit the biggest, with the adaidas brand coming next, and then the Eastbay branding having the smallest dimensions. The waist size actually has a 2" difference comparing the Eastbay brand with the other two mentioned. Yet the adidas & Nike branding will fit about the same, with Nike having an inch more difference in the waist dimension.

The men's Eastbay MM Cold Weather Tight has similar features that the other name brands will have, just a more inexpensive price since it is our branding. We have to keep the same features available for our product, otherwise we would not be able to compete with the other brands. The biggest difference with these tights is usually that they are made with a slightly different material, but still have the Cold Weather dry-wick fabric technology as the others.
