Do the amount of spikes affect speed?

The Zoom Ja fly has 8 spikes while the Lite-ning 4's have 6.
Does more spikes mean more speed?

The amount of studs on a cleat could affect speed. If you think about it this way, more studs will usually mean better traction, which in turn will help out with your speed. Whether 6 or an 8 stud difference on the plate is that noticeable is the key question. And for some it is. Try looking up some reviews on both the men's Nike Zoom Ja Fly & the men's ASICS® Japan Lite-Ning 4 to see what other players are saying about the performance of the shoes. Maybe someone will be talking about the traction.
