Normally, lightweight running shoes are just that...a lightweight shoe that is designed for runners with speed and performance in mind. If the shoe wasn't needed for competition, I would be recommending a 'motion control' shoe that would give your daughter the best stability. Since it seems she does need it for racing, the women's Nike LunarGlide + 4 shoe is a good choice for her since it does have some added stability due to the comfort/support construction of the sockliner and midsole. The cushioning of the shoe will help with heel impact.
