The adidas adiZero LJ 2 - Men's, is designed specifically for the long jump. It can be used for both, but is mainly a long jump shoe. The Nike Zoom TJ 3 and the ASICS® Turbo Jump are also options. All three of these shoes would be excellent options.

Question

Can I use this shoe for pole vault?

I compete in decathlons, and I need a shoe that can be used for pole vault as well as long jump. Also, would it be better to get the TJ shoe instead, as I'm not very experienced (only two outdoor seasons doing jumps) and the LJ shoes seem to be designed for an elite jumper (i.e. someone who can really launch off their takeoff foot with a lot of power!)?

Actually, it works a little better with the shoes reversed; meaning a sprint spike can be used for a jump spike, but a jump spike has a unique design and may not be the greatest for sprinting. There is essentially no traction on the back of a jumping spike because the runner is pretty much just on his toes before take-off. But, this would be your choice as to how you use the men's adidas adiZero LJ 2 spike. I would recommend visiting a sporting goods store to see if they have some different types of spikes you could try on to get a feel of the shoes. You can always order online afterwards.
