Are these soles rubber that can be used on asphalt?
I just received these shoes and the soles seem more like plastic than rubber. Thanks.

I guess it becomes a matter of perception. The plastic that I see in some track spikes is a lot harder than the rubber-like material the outsole is made from on the men's Nike Zoom Forever XC spike. With this style, at least you can still run on asphalt and get some traction without the spike pins in place. On the styles with the harder plastic outsoles, you can't really use the shoes without the pins because there is no traction at all on outside surfaces.

yes it is a good idea to it is dangerous if for example you are using sprint spikes becasue the heel would be too small. if you look alot of 800m runners use shoes for cross country or 500m\10000m shoes.
